Scott Hartman is a trombone soloist, chamber musician and educator. Since 2001, Scott has lead the Trombone Studio at the Yale University School of Music. Scott has performed in all of the 50 United States and toured throughout Europe, Asia and South America. He began his chamber music career as a member of the famed Empire Brass and was a founding member of Proteus7, the Millennium Brass, the Yale Brass Trio and the trombone quartet - Four of a Kind. He is a member of the Summit Brass and the Brass Band of Battle Creek
Scott is married to conductor, Sarah Ioannides and lives in Tacoma, WA and Stafford Springs, CT with Sarah and their three energetic children, Audrey, Karl and Elsa.
In addition to his teaching at Yale University, each summer Mr. Hartman performs and coaches brass chamber music at the Norfolk Chamber Festival, the Mendez Institute and the Chautauqua Music Festival. Scott runs a publishing company for brass music, Firebird Editions, and has developed and produces his own line of mouthpieces, available through Hartman Mouthpieces
